Terry, married a very local Derwent girl
I settled in Tasmania in 1972 and married a very local Upper Derwent Valley girl in 1978.
Worked as a technician in the film and television industries in UK, New Zealand and Canada. Retired from the ABC in 1986. Imported tulip bulbs from Holland and grew cut flowers. Worked part time for the Department of Health and Human Services until really retiring in 2007.
I enjoy bushwalking, fishing, birdwatching and snorkeling.
I have been fortunate to have visited other places, only to be disappointed in their tired and abused environments.
The attraction of Tasmania’s untouched areas and healthy lifestyle was a major factor in my decision to come here.
Imagine my dismay at finding Tasmania is going down the same path of environmental degradation.
The more I see of inappropriate forest practices the more I am determined to lobby for a better outcome.
I do not want to see Tasmania making the same mistakes as other countries.
Tasmania’s unique wilderness areas are too important to be compromised.
